Barachia, Berlin,Zapatoca, San Vincente, Zapatoca, Rionegro (El Portal)
After driving long hours on gravel roads we decided to do some hiking in the rain forest to hunt the Jaguar :-)
Therefore we drove from Barachia, via Berlin (yes) to San Vincente de Cucuri an Rain Forest nearby.
We stopped over for the night in Zapatoca, a nice mountain village. From there we drove the next day to San Vincente, where we got a Police escort to show us the way out of the town to the NP on the mountain. But of course we still got lost and also stuck in the mud, which took Thomas a while to get out again, as he manouvered himself in a really bad situation :-). We did a nice 2 hour hiking, found 2 Jaguars ( no unfourunally not), wanted to drive back to San Vincente, but took the wrong side road at night and came back again to Zapatoca at 9 pm. From here we drove to a Park "El Portal" at Rionegro, north of Bucaramanga, to relax for two days before heading of again to Brachila, to hopefully pick up my car.
